Nepal Flood Emergency Campaign

The devastating flash floods in Nepal’s Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river corridors are affecting communities across Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts.

The latest report indicates that 1.6 million people have been affected or displaced. Preliminary reports indicate that more than 1,000 people have died, more than 4,500 remain missing, and dozens have been injured, with numbers expected to rise as rescuers reach isolated communities.

How ActionAid Is Responding

Delivering aid and maintaining response operations is becoming increasingly difficult as the situation evolves. Our team has successfully delivered relief supplies, including:

• 1,400 kg of food supplies, including beaten rice, mixed dalmot and roasted chickpeas
• 200 blankets
• 180 sleeping bags
• Hygiene and dignity kits

Currently, the response needs to operate on two tracks simultaneously:

• Meet immediate humanitarian needs and reach hard to reach populations.
• Prepare now for the transition to ready to eat food supplies, temporary settlements, temporary education and early recovery.

• Safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene support
• Emergency healthcare and psychosocial support
• Protection services for women, children and vulnerable groups
