For years, the people of Adachi, a rural community in Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State, lived with a painful reality of no access to safe, clean water. Women and children walked long distances, often for close to an hour, just to fetch muddy water from drying streams and shallow wells.
The consequences were severe. Waterborne diseases became common, children missed school, and families struggled with the daily burden of survival.
