“I like my school now.”
For Masho, a 10-year-old pupil at Nyaja Danbo Primary School, in Taraba state, these simple words capture a huge change.
For years, her school’s three-classroom building was in disrepair. The roof needed attention, the classrooms had deteriorated and broken desks made learning difficult.
Today, Masho walks into a different kind of classroom. The three-classroom building has been renovated, re-roofed and painted, and 90 new desks now give children a proper place to learn.
“I enjoy coming to school now. Our school is very beautiful, and even some children from other schools now want to come here. I am happy to learn here. I want to become a medical doctor when I grow up,” Masho says with a smile.
This International Literacy Day, his story reminds us that literacy begins with giving children the right environment to learn, grow and dream.
Your donations are making these changes possible. Through your generosity, children like Masho can learn with greater dignity and hope.
But Masho is only one child, and Nyaja Danbo is only one community.
With little as 3,000 naira a month, you can help children like Masho learn, grow and dream of a brighter future.
Donate today and help a child stay in school.
