Alison tragically passed away in 2010 in the UK. Her family and friends wanted to create a lasting legacy in her memory, so they raised the funds required to renovate the dilapidated primary school in Ikot Mfon in her honor from friends and loved ones.

With these funds ActionAid constructed 3 classrooms, a head master’s office, library, toilet for boys and girls, recreational facilities and a water borehole which now provides opportunity for about 120 children in Ikot Mfon community, Akwa Ibom State, to access quality education for the first time in decades. In Ikot Mfon, children now have access to recreational activities which makes learning fun for them.
